Medical Form Distribution

The BSA Medical Forms we had on file for all attendees will be available for Pack Representatives to pick up at the July and August Mustang District Roundtables. 

Unit Representatives will need to sign for their Unit's health forms before they will be distributed so that we have maintained proper chain of command.

District Day Camp - That's a Wrap!

Many thanks to all the hands and smiling faces that made it happen once again. It's a labor of love for each of us and we are so thankful for all of you showing up, smiling, scouting!  Thank you for being part of our village!

In doing some final housekeeping, there are a few things that were left behind in our LOST & FOUND.  They were posted on our Facebook page. Please take a look-see and if they are yours, reach out to one of us and we will get it back to your unit.

Also, thank you to all of those wonderful families who lent us tables, canopies, coolers and water jugs. We simply could NOT have made it through the week without your generosity.  Thank you for your contribution to Scouting! We still have one family needing to pick theirs up but it's not labeled so if you lent one and haven't got it back yet, please let me know! 

One last thing in parting, there will be some surveys coming out shortly. But BEFORE YOU DELETE THIS... realize that because we value your time, they're electronic and should take no more than 3 minutes to complete.  We would appreciate your feedback so that we can ensure next year's camp is even better. 

Feedback is a gift and we thoughtfully consider every single suggestion made.  As you can see, to make this happen, it takes more than a village, so I would also ask that if there are several considerations you think would make our camp better, join our team for next year!  The best way to implement change is to BE the change!

Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?

Whew it was a chilly one today!


That frigid 106 degree heat index sure made me wish for some of this...

Can I get an AMEN?!

We had several little guys head to the First Aid Station today with signs of heat exhaustion.  Safety is our TOP PRIORITY so please HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE -- adults AND youth!

Our Youth Staff have done an excellent job of making sure our Scouts and Volunteers are drinking water at every station but WE CAN DO BETTER! 

Adult Chaperones, please make sure all the youth in your charge are refilling their water bottles multiple times.  Their attitude feeds off of your attitude so the better prepared we all are for this... the better the day camp experience is for everyone. 

We appreciate you all SO MUCH for helping us have the most awesome camp for Mustang District. We couldn't do it without you!

Don't Forget The Egg Drop!

One of the most anticipated events at Day Camp is our EGG DROP!

The egg drop will take place Thursday afternoon.

Your scout needs to create some kind of contraption to hold a RAW EGG (provided by you) which will be shot up and then dropped using water rocket launchers, one den at a time. After all eggs are dropped from each den, you will retrieve your contraptions and check the survival of your egg.

This is not a competition with other Scouts or dens. The only competition is between you and the egg.

 So, here are the rules:

  • Contraption must have the Scout's name clearly marked on the outside
  • Contraption must have the Den name clearly marked as well 
  • Should be approximately 12" x 12" x 12"
  • Be creative
  • Parachutes are OKAY to use if you want to
  • Drop off Thursday morning at Egg Drop table which is next to the Food Drive table outside of Headquarters 
  • Have Fun!!

Remember, if your egg breaks, come up with a different contraption at the next one.
